Pray the Devil Back to Hell, the riveting story of the unsung heroines of Liberia, who in 2003, armed only with white t-shirts and courage, brought down a dictator and ended a long, brutal war. This documentary shows how thousands of ordinary women--mothers, grandmothers, daughters, both Christian and Muslim--nonviolently forced a resolution during stalled peace talks. Their demonstrations culminated in the exile of Charles Taylor and the election of Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Africa's first female head of state, and marked the vanguard of a new wave of women seeking control of their political destiny around the world.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu calls the film “inspiring, uplifting and a call to action for all of us. "Reflecting on women, war and peace, Pray the Devil Back to Hell amplifies women's voices and recognizes and supports their knowledge of peace-building."

The film is directed by Emmy-winning and Academy Award® nominated filmmaker Gini Reticker and produced by Abigail Disney. Since its debut, Pray the Devil Back to Hell has been named the Best Documentary at many film festivals around the country. It has traveled all over the world, bringing its encouraging message and inspiration to war survivors, politicians, community organizers, and people living through conflict. The Liberian women in the film from the Mass Action Campaign for Peace have received both a John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage™ Award and Gruber Women's Rights Prize this year.
